Giampaolo trained as a pianist, arranger, and composer, studying at the CPM Music Institute in Milan with Massimo Colombo and Roberto Guarnieri and has since been enriched by the invaluable hands-on experience working with numerous Italian and foreign artists as well as steady and prolific contact with recording studios in the United States which allowed him to become more involved in the international recording world.

In 2005 he founded the record label PLAY in Milan, which boasts over 15,000 productions of classical, pop, independent, jazz, Latin, dance, and disco, some of which are constantly present in the charts of iTunes, Spotify, Tidal, Deezer, etc…

In 2006, Giampaolo met Roby Matano, a renowned Italian music talent scout, and began a close collaboration with him that led him in 2009 at the beginning of their fruitful partnership with the historic record label and publishers `SAAR Records` Milan, who engaged, inter alia, the republication of several albums in the catalog/brand “Jolly” which contains some of the best-selling albums in the history of Italian music.

Between the years 2012 and 2015 Giampaolo attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, studying Advanced Mix and Mastering Techniques with Mark Wessel, the Mix With The Masters masterclass at the studio La Fabrique in Avignon – France, and a masterclass at Mirrorball Entertainment in Los Angeles – US, taught by Tony Maserati.

In September 2016 Giampaolo gives life to a project conceived by himself, producing an album titled “We All Love Burt Bacharach”, which contains No.13 hits of the American composer revisited in a jazz arrangement, performed by Peter Erskine (Wheater Report) Bob Mintzer (Yellow Jackets), Darek Oles, Kathleen Grace, Michael Stever, and Aaron Serfaty.  As well as artistic producer, Giampaolo has also mixed the album as an engineer and will be released by his own record company, PLAY in partnership with Oracle Records Ltd on November 4, 2016.

Note: Since 2010, making use of his business partner and collaborator Michele Garruti, Eng.Antonio La Gatta (Consorzio Veneto Ricerca) and Doc.
